Hi, my name is Sam Danish, and I’m a tarot reader, community organizer, master's student in counseling psychology, and witch for hire.
People like to ask if I’m psychic, and I usually reply, “Yes! And so are you!” Tarot is a card game that allows us to play with the psychic and divine what hides in the corners of our world.
I also design and facilitate rituals at parties, ceremonies, or gatherings to ground participants in personal and shared intention.

I understand tarot can feel scary. We live in times where the world and our place in it can feel uncertain, and it's natural to brace for bad news as it bombards us daily. But in my experience, the cards we fear most are often the ones that open us to hope. The Tower marks the collapse of our carefully laid plans, and accepting that takes courage, but in that rubble, it makes room for the Star to emerge and guide us toward the gifts the world wants to offer. Gifts we could never have expected, because our Tower stood in the way.
I'm available on Zoom, or in person around Brooklyn and the wider NYC area, whether as a house call or in a third space like a coffee shop or park.

Parties and gatherings are old, deeply human technologies of transformation. Yet people often don't know what role they want to play, or how to participate in the story unfolding around them, both their own and the one we share. And so the true magic of a gathering is hidden. In a world this digital, I offer something in-person: an experience that invites intention, connection, and presence.

My Story with Magic, Tarot, and Ritual
I have always looked for the magic living in the world around me. I first discovered a tarot deck in a moment when I was feeling lost and searching for direction. What I found over and over again, reading for myself and others, was revelation and insight amidst uncertainty. Over the last decade, I've returned to tarot to find meaningful answers to life's big questions.
Soon after moving to New York, I started bringing a deck to city events, offering readings in the corners of parties and bars. What I realized is that we're all looking for connection and the magic of meaning in the world around us. Tarot is a remarkable tool for divining that meaning. When we go out, we're all after something. Tarot helps make sense of the particular stories that searching places us in.
I'm also studying for a master's in mental health counseling. I see these two practices as related but ultimately distinct: witches take many forms, and I bring the wisdom I carry as a student of psychology to my reading of the tarot. In a reading, the archetypes, stories, and truths held in the art of my decks dance into the form of a spread, illuminating the agency we have within life's real limitations. Magic is simply a matter of paying attention to the cards sitting on our table.
